What Is an ARC?

An Advance Reader Copy (ARC) is a pre-publication version of a book shared with selected readers before its
official release. ARC readers provide early, honest feedback or voluntary reviews that help authors refine their
message and introduce the work to new audiences.

On Amazon, the term “ARC reader program” usually refers to distributing advance copies through the Kindle
Direct Publishing (KDP) platform to generate early reviews and visibility. Amazon itself doesn’t run a formal
ARC program — instead, authors manage this process independently or through trusted third-party services.
